May is National Barbecue Month

Black’s BBQ Philanthropy: Rock the Red Kettle
The Original Black’s BBQ was honored to be asked to be a part of KOKE FM’s “Rock the Red Kettle” event benefitting Salvation Army. The event was held at Midnight Rodeo Austin on November 30, 2014 and musical acts including Cory Morrow were on hand to perform. The Original Black’s BBQ provided chopped beef sandwiches and chips for the attendees in exchange for a $5.00 donation. It was a great time benefitting a great cause!
Black’s BBQ in the News: Gossip and Goat at TMBBQ Fest
Kent Black, third generation pitmaster of one of the Central Texas barbecue royal families in Lockhart, reported that construction snags have slowed down the opening of their Austin storefront, but he hopes to have the local outlet of the original Black's Barbecue (3110 Guadalupe) open by the end of the month. Meanwhile, he said his new Kent Black's Barbecue (500 Hull in San Marcos) has received an enthusiastic response in that community where he catered lunch for 800 Navy fans before Texas State played the Naval Academy on Saturday.
